Why Today Is The Best Day To Start Living Your Dreams!

So, why not you?

Why were they able to do it, but you're still stuck in the same old rut? It’s simple.  They took action!  They took action and relentlessly, tirelessly and courageously chased that dream down until they caught it.  They didn’t listen to the people that told them no.  They didn’t make excuses or put in on the back burner.  Well, maybe they made excuses, but they made a lot more reasons to succeed than they did excuses.

They worked when you were at happy hour.  They worked while you were spending the day watching football.  They woke up earlier and they stayed up later - and now - look at them!  They have the things you want.

But I have great news!  It’s never too late to start!  In fact, you can start today - right now!  (Well, right after you get done reading this.).   Maybe you’ve already started, or maybe you have started 50 times and stopped.  Doesn’t matter!   Because today is a brand new day and it’s full of endless opportunities!  

It’s your time!  You’ve spent enough time thinking about it, dreaming about it and watching other people do it.  It’s time for you to realize that life is too short to play small.  It’s time for you to start that business, lose that weight, get that degree, write that book or ask for that promotion.  Whatever it is that you’ve been dreaming of - can be yours.  But you must start now.

No one ever said it was going to be easy - it’s not.  Nothing worthwhile is ever easy.  But your dream is worth whatever sacrifices you will have to make.  It’s time to stop blaming your circumstances, you childhood, your spouse, your gender or your hair color.  If your WHY is big enough, it will kick the shit out of every HOW that comes in your path.

Just take one step today - even if it’s small.  Even it means just writing one page of the book, buying a domain name, starting a facebook page, lacing up those shoes and jogging just ONE block.  Everything begins with one step. There is never going to be a perfect time.  There are certainly never going to be perfect circumstances.    If it was easy then everyone would do it!  

Maybe you haven’t started because you don’t know where to start.  Or, maybe you don’t know what your dream is.  I can certainly understand that.   Maybe you’ve been so wrapped up in survival mode, that you haven’t even allowed yourself dream.  (We have a tendency to do that as we get older)  Perhaps you don’t know what your dream is, but you sure in the heck know it’s not what you’re doing now.  

If this is where you are, don’t fret.  Grab a notebook and let’s play a game.

Remember when you were little and someone asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up and you said something like an astronaut or an actress or a dancer, or maybe a cowboy? It was certainly fine then to dream up whatever you could imagine.  Then, gradually, as we get older, people tell us to be “realistic,”  Well, I say screw their reality, because I’m in charge of my own!  What is “realistic” anyway?  And who’s reality are you living by?  Your dream is someone else’s reality right this very minute.  

Back to the notebook.  If the Universe was magical and you could do and become whoever you wanted, what would you do?  Go ahead and dream - no one is going to judge you.  If your dream is to become an actress and star opposite Brad Pitt - write it!.  Just get your creative juices flowing and have some fun with it.   By the way, I have a secret for you…the Universe is magical, but more on that another time. 

If you already know what your dream is, but don’t have a clue how to begin achieving it then get on the internet and google it, because I can pretty much guarantee you that someone else is doing it.  You don’t have to recreate the wheel here.  If you want to start a food truck, you can actually google, “How to start a food truck.”  Researching is almost always the best way to start.  Find things about websites, programs, pricing and logos that you like and use them as inspiration to create your own.  

Research might be the first step, but please do not let it be the last.  We often find ourselves in “paralysis by analysis” mode.  That means you’re too busy reading and researching about other people doing it that you don’t actually take any action. Action is the only thing that’s going to get you to your dream.  Do not wait until tomorrow!  You deserve to have everything you want in your life - now!

This is your life!  Today is one very precious day in our very short lives.  Don’t die with your dream inside of you!
